Special Meeting to review Bids-

Chagnon's was the low bidder on the project, but it was still 46% over the estimated amount from Phelps Engineering.

Suggestions on Cost-

Lance suggested to check out and see if the time of the year made a difference on the prices we got.

See if Chagnon's is willing to discuss and review all line items, Alan will try to get line items from them.

Chagnon's said possible savings of 5 to 6 k it we go back to having a vault instead of a building.

Item #1 has the entire tank site and includes electrical and controls.

Open cut on road could have some savings.

See if spring would change Chagnon's bid

To be in our budget we would have to lower the bid from Chagnon's by 30%

Marc contacted Margaret Hummel to see if there was any money available from Homeland Security or any where else. There could be possibilities on fencing, lightning and redundancy of the second tank.  Margaret is to research if we could get any money.

Alan is to check with David Allerton and see if any of the note for $ 22,000.00 could be forgiven since the bids came in higher than expected.

Alan is to send out a letter to Chagnon to ask for possible places to save money. He will contact us to schedule another meeting.

New Business-

Received the resignation letter from Dwight DeCoster, it was excepted and there was talk of continuing his free water while he is in Afghanistan, tabled for further discussion.  Jane will reply to his letter, and we will keep his job open for him when he returns.

Mike Forsberg is considering the possibility of being the interim meter reader.

We have a leak that is losing approximately 12,000 gallons a day.  Marc has been looking for it and will continue.
Marc ordered a curb stop wrench from Red Hed and it should be in soon.

Other Business-

Marc is to check on new meter books for the clerk.

Adjournment - 8:40 p.m.

Respectfully submitted:

Jane Maheux
